WIAW - Shaun's Graduation

Sorry for the prolonged absence guys - I've been without a computer for the last week. I mentioned I was having troubles and last week, my computer plainly refused to start. I got it back today; needless to say it was a long week.

Thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes. I had a great day; I got to go home and see my family and I got some amazing presents (two Harry Potter related gifts, a Doctor Who related gift, a Garmin, a gift voucher to Lorna Jane, a bakeware store gift card, a Goo Goo Dolls related gift and some American money for my trip to the U.S. (side note: paper money is weird)). My family and friends know me well.

Also, and probably most importantly, last Friday my younger brother graduated from high school! He is now officially a graduate and will probably be going to my university in Brisbane next year. I'm pretty proud of him, though I can't believe how old he is. So I thought now would be a great time to show you some pictures of us I stumbled across in one of my parents photo albums the other day. The pics are of us as kids and us now (at Shaun's graduation). The old pictures are probably when Shaun was almost preschool age, so the pictures show us at the start of his school life and end of it.

Please ignore my tendancy to stick my tongue out (I do it inadvertently when I'm concentrating so I'm told), my awful fringe, and my black tooth (yes, I had a black tooth for ages, and I still have a lump in my lip from when it was split open in the same fall that blackened my tooth). Also, yes, I know my brother was a better looking child than me. I have been told.

FYI: My brother chose his own picture.

Now that I have bombarded you with pictures you don't care about - onto what you do care about - the food. This WIAW features food from Monday. As usual, thanks to Jenn at Peas and Crayons for hosting!

Breakfast: A now regular breakfast - toast with PB, honey and banana

Lunch: Leftover vegetable pasta

Snack: Some dark chocolate. Because it's awesome. Yes, I went a little crazy buying it.

Post workout snack: Chocolate protein oats with dried fruit (apricots and sultanas)

Dinner: My pork chops with apple and mushrooms and mashed sweet potato

And that's all for this week. Thanks for stopping by - and now it's back to regular scheduled posting.

    1. Oh, thank you! My hair is crazy long these days - it's always so HOT. And I think my brother would kill me if I put up an unapproved picture! ;)

  3. What great pictures! I'm not sure my brother would allow me to post any on my blog :) We have a picture like the 4th one down... Much younger though. It looks like I am literally strangling him with my hug. I wonder if all siblings have that kind of picture? Haha.

Those are some awesome birthday presents! Especially the Harry Potter gifts and American money. I forget, what are your plans when you come to the U.S.?

    1. Haha, my brother was pretty adament about what pictures I could and could not use. I was a very good sister and did as he said haha. I think all siblings have a picture where one is strangling the other - it's a right of passage younger siblings must go through ;)

I'm coming to the US in December/January and going around the East Coast (mostly MA/NY). I've never travelled alone before or been to America before. I mean, I've lived by myself for two years so I'm sure I'll be fine, but a little scared about the US! :)

    1. Thanks - I'll be sure to tell him!
The Lindt bars are to die for. I made my Mum hide my stash somewhere and promise to only give me some if I beg. I was pretty much eating chocolate and chocolate alone! :)

  6. Love all of the photos! Congrats to your lil bro for graduating high school!

And of course, the Lindt collection is SO awesome. I'm a total chocoholic so I'm loving it. I don't recognize that other brand there though, the light blue packaged ones?

    1. Thank you! The other brand is an organic brand - Loving Earth. It's made with coconut oil instead of more fatty oils and sugars. It's actually really delicious! :)
