WIAW - At my grandparents

It's another Wednesday! Which means, as usual, thanks to ever beautiful Jenn at Peas and Crayons, it's time for What I Ate Wednesday.

Today I've had a great day - I got back from the Sunshine Coast, had coffee with my grandparents, bought new gym clothes courtesy of my roommates Christmas present, did a little food shopping, made danishes, did some writing, went to the gym, watched Obama get elected, and then wrote some more, and am now waiting for my veggie extravaganza of dinner to finish cooking, then I am going to thoroughly enjoy the Big Brother finale (because I am lame).

Also, tweet of the day totally goes to Ricky Gervais: “: I say we just let Australia run America.

So onto the food- these are my eats from Sunday, where I was on the beautiful Sunshine Coast with my grandparents.

When I woke up it was pretty early and my grandparents usually don't roll out of bed until around 8. So I went for a bike around for around 40 minutes - from my grandparents place to the beach at Mooloolaba and did a few of the pretty canal areas. I followed it up with a super quick circuit and ab workout then got to eat one of my all time favourite breakfasts that I haven't had in ages.

Toast, peanut butter, honey, LSA and banana. It was a tiny banana! I bought sugar-free wholegrain toast, which actually tasted fantastic. And this was my first time having honey in about three weeks. I missed it.

I then hung around with my grandparents when they got up, played some cards and then had this amazing snack - strawberry Chobani, oats, and half a pear.

This is what the day looked like. I then spent a few hours writing for NaNoWriMo, which I'm pretty stoked about. What I've written isn't great quality, sure, but something has been written at least.

My grandparents had some friends over for a late BBQ lunch (needless to say I was starving by the time we ate). We had this amazing spread: coleslaw, salad, trimmings, chicken skewers and chops and sourdough (unpictured).

By the time dinner rolled around (ok, so it was 5:30 but my grandparents eat early), I wasn't too hungry so I had the usual breakfast for dinner - oats with cinnamon and banana. Followed by a slice of bread. Because I really wanted carbs apparently. And no pictures, because we all know what oats and bread looks like.

We then hung around and watched Oceans 11 (the original) and I wrote a bit more. I spent another few days there and the days were pretty similar - early morning exercise followed by a great breafkast and time alone, followed by cards, then writing, then an absurdly late lunch, then more of nothing, then dinner.

So that was my last few days in a nutshell - can't wait to read all of your latest eats!

  1. Wow, I'm so jealous of your absolutely beautiful day!! Chicago has been dreary for the past few days, which has made going out and running very difficult for me!

    1. LSA is this mix you can get in Australia - linseed, sunflower seed and almonds. It's all crushed up and is absolutely beautiful! :) and the meat on a stick was absolutely awesome!
