WIAW - back problems

It's Wednesday so it's that time again - What I Ate Wednesday. I am writing this sitting very uncomfortably because I have done something awful to my back. My day was going ok, not that great, but ok. After uni I went to the gym and had been on the treadmill for about 15 minutes when my back started spasming. I could barely walk! So I got off the treadmill and thought I would just finish up my workout on the bike. Well, that was stupid.

I went to my room to grab my laptop to write this post, and despite my back spasming randomly all afternoon it hadn't been too bad, but I just collapsed and couldn't get myself off the ground. Yvonne had to lift me up off the ground.

My back is still killing me now. I'm waiting for Marine to get home with some drugs so I can sleep tonight. I'm really hoping it miraculously gets better tomorrow because I have an exam and then I have to go to uni Thursday. So lets all cross our fingers and hope I get better!

As usual, thanks to Jenn at Peas and Crayons for hosting.

Breakfast: Oatmeal with apricots, cinnamon and honey. No picture because it looked awful.

Snacks throughout the day - several of these brownies Skinny Fudgy Peanut Butter and Banana Brownies - recipe here, seriously ya'll check it out - and Christmas style ones - recipe I'm creating for a mag article.

Lunch - Tin of tuna with brown rice, zucchini, mushrooms and cheese.

Dinner - This was amazing. The perfect snack plate. This included ham, multigrain bread roll, apple sauce, pear, leftover roasted pumpkin and sweet potato, leftover roast pork, veal sausages and Dutch smoked cheese.

Dessert - one of these. Is anyone really surprised?

Well I hope you all are having a better week then me. Let us hope the back is better in the morning!

  1. Yummy!!! Your featuring in a magazine article? Any I know?

I hope your back feels better soon! Sounds horrible I did something similar overexercising a while ago. My physio had to strap my back :( hopefully rest will help your back.

The back's starting to get there now so hopefully I can get back into it soon. Man, no one mentioned how much it hurts to go the physio. haha

  2. I hope your back feels better! Give it lots of rest and take it easy :)

Those first brownies look amazing - and congrats on getting the Christmas ones featured in a magazine! That's so exciting! I've never been to your blog before and I really shouldn't be here now (I should be studying) but I saw the christmas tree brownies over at Peas and Crayons and just *had* to click over and see who else is already in the Christmas spirit, so that I'm not the only! Alas, it seems that you're not celebrating yet, you're just in publishing :P Still, I love Christmas and the brownies are adorable!

  7. That lunch looks great. Anything with tuna, rice and zucchini is okay by me!

So excited to hear about your mag article! I thought from WIAW that your picture looked kind of "Christmasy" and I though, What is that girl up to? The theme is Halloween?! Lol. Sounds awesome though! :)

I have a test today too, and I couldn't imagine taking it with back pain. I hope you get better fast!!

    1. Ugh, I hate tests. Fortunantly the back wasn't too bad, but still. Haha it's hard to do Halloween in Australia - living in a country that doesn't celebrate it means I'm lacking in that department haha.

  9. Aw sorry to hear about your back. I suffer from back issues so I know how much of a pain they can be. I'm not sure if you can get them where you are, but I bought these patches at the chemist that have IcyHot on them. It works wonders to release the muscle. Feel better.
